Worldwide Wine Awards

The Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA) is the world’s largest and most influential wine competition, evaluated by a jury of wine experts worldwide. As a result of the competition, wine recommendations and a list of international stockists are published. The DWWA is chaired by Steven Spurrier, whom we know from that eventful tasting recorded as “The Paris Delusion of 1976”.

Medals
The jury members taste each wine individually, having information on the region, type and price of the wines. The members then compare the grades and make a compromise on the medal. Gold or silver medal wines are tasted again with the approval of the regional director.

Regional Trophies
All gold medal wines are categorized by region, priced below £ 15 and above, or by grape variety. The members of the Regional Jury will re-taste these wines under £ 15 and over £ 15 in each category for the best wine award from the Regional Trophy. The Regional Trophy award is a prize awarded only if the jury believes the wine deserves the award.

International Trophies
All wines awarded with the Regional Trophy are divided according to their type and grape variety. These wines compete separately for International Trophies, priced below £ 15 and over £ 15. It is an award received as a result of the competition of the best wine of each region. The jury consists of President Steven Spurrier, Guest Vice President Gerard Basset OBE MS MW and three Regional Presidents.

Congratulations to our producers who received awards at DWWA. Thanks for the products they have produced with care.
